Welcome to Kitaaben. We are deeply committed to respecting your intellectual sanctuary and protecting your literary logs, bookshelf configurations, notes, and profile credentials.
We collect your email, reading progress, reviews, and cover customizations — only what's needed to sync your library securely across your devices.
To provide AI recommendations, books on your shelf (title, author, and reviews) may be securely evaluated by secure server-side AI models. None of your underlying personal identifiers or logs are sold or used for model training.
We employ secure cookies and local browser storage specifically to retain your theme configurations and active bookshelf views across sessions.
Access to your account data is restricted through user-specific database rules and authorized service operations. We do not make your private library public, but limited access may occur where needed to operate, secure, support, or comply with legal obligations.
When you upload a PDF or EPUB, we process and store the file only to provide the reader, syncing, and cloud-storage features you request. You retain any rights you hold in the file, and Kitaaben does not claim ownership of it. We do not routinely review or verify uploaded books, although limited automated or human access may occur when reasonably necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, or comply with legal obligations. Do not upload sensitive personal information you do not want stored with your account.
Creating a Kitaaben account subscribes the email address on that account to our newsletter, sent via Beehiiv, with reading tips, product updates, and occasional recommendations. Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing only opts you out of the newsletter and does not affect your Kitaaben account or library.
